Marie Marcalus is the Director for Research and Publications for the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation, Marie worked in the Texas Senate, serving as a policy analyst for Texas state Senator Kevin Sparks and specializing in education and border security policy.
Marie received her B.A. in History from Baylor University and her Masters in Politics from the University of Dallas. While in graduate school, she spent one summer interning for U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, and another at the Foundation focusing on Texas identity and immigration policy. While at Baylor, Marie was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
A native Louisianian, Marie is proud to have called Texas home for the past 7+ years. She is passionate about public policy, political philosophy, furthering the conservative movement among younger generations, and spends her time reading, making plans to travel abroad, and cheering on Baylor football.
