Grant Coates is Chief Executive Officer and President of The Miles Foundation. In 2001, Grant joined Miles Production Company, Ellison Miles’ predecessor oil and gas business. Grant served in various financial roles for Miles Production Company and, subsequently, for The Miles Foundation, for three years. In 2009, Grant was elected to the Board of Directors of The Miles Foundation, and in 2011, he was named President. In this role, Grant is responsible for the general management of the Foundation, including the oversight of the grant submission and selection process, as well as the stewardship of the Foundation’s investments. Grant leads the Foundation’s Investment Committee, serves on the Board of several of the Foundation’s portfolio companies, and ensures the organization’s fidelity to its outlined investment strategy.

Grant takes great pride in the positive change The Miles Foundation continues to achieve for local communities through its grant projects and partners. Grant earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of North Texas, and an MBA from Texas Christian University. He currently serves on the TCU College of Education Board of Visitors, Foundant Technologies CORE Advisory Board, and the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) Education Advisory Council. Grant is also a co-founder of the Fort Worth chapter of the Liberty Leadership Council, and is a founding member of WORTH at the North Texas Community Foundation. He has two children, Owen and Isabel, and resides in Fort Worth, Texas.
