David Winston is a Principal with Texas Next Capital, a San Antonio-based private company investment group. Prior to joining the firm in 2018, he worked with J.P. Morgan in Austin and Vision Research in Dallas, a short-only equity research shop. David is a CFA Charterholder.
As a fifth generation Texan, David grew up in Houston before moving to Boerne and later attending Baylor University. He graduated cum laude with a B.B.A. in Business Fellows, Finance, and Entrepreneurship. He was also an Analyst with the Baylor Angel Network and Philip M. Dorr Investment Fund.
In addition to spending time with his wife, daughter and golden retriever, David is involved with the Prison Entrepreneurship Program, Austin Disaster Relief Network and Austin Stone Community Church. David enjoys travel with family and friends, particularly to go snow skiing, hunting or fishing. He also enjoys attending Bears sporting events, playing basketball and watching movie trailers.
