AUSTIN – Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation released the following statement from Executive Director Kevin Roberts in support of Sen. Paul Bettencourt’s resolution declaring America’s border crisis an emergency:
“The Texas Public Policy Foundation thanks the Texas Senate for recognizing what is painfully obvious to Texans and the citizens of other southern border states: the human trafficking crisis at the border is a national emergency. The federal government has failed in its obligation to fully maintain safety and order at the border. It poses a serious threat to the security and welfare of Texas and is escalating what is already a grave humanitarian crisis. We hope the Texas Legislature stands with Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, Senator Bettencourt, and all Texans in demanding federal action at the border to enforce our laws and protect Americans.”
