TOMORROW: TPPF to release new report on civil asset forfeiture

AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation will release the report “Taking Contraband Without Taking Away Our Liberties: Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform in Texas” on March 6, 2014. Authored by Derek Cohen, policy analyst with the Center for Effective Justice, the study details how state and federal forfeiture procedures are being excessively used in many instances, as well as the lack of limitations provided to protect citizens’ rights.
