AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation is pleased to announce the additions of Amarillo restaurateur Victor Leal and Houston real estate developer Kendall Miller to its board of directors.

"Victor Leal and Kendall Miller are successful small businessmen, distinguished leaders in their communities, and proven champions for free enterprise and limited government," said Dr. Wendy Lee Gramm, chairman of the Foundation's board of directors. "The Texas Public Policy Foundation is blessed with an impressive leadership team, and we are excited to have Victor and Kendall as part of it."

Victor Leal is the CEO of Leal's Mexican Restaurants, which has been a family business since 1957 in Amarillo and across the Texas Panhandle. He has previously served as the Governor's appointee to the Texas Tax Reform Commission, the Texas Economic Development Corporation, and the Texas Facilities Commission. He has served as a board member for the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Amarillo, Carenet of Amarillo/Canyon, and the Region 17 Education Service Center, as well as in leadership roles with the Texas Municipal League.

"Texas' economy is the envy of the nation because our state government has largely stayed out of the way of entrepreneurs who want to create jobs," Leal said. "I look forward to working with the Texas Public Policy Foundation to make sure our state's entrepreneurial spirit remains strong."

Kendall Miller is President of Tanglewood Corporation, a family-owned business that develops and manages various properties in the Houston area, including Tanglewood Center and Post Oak Shopping Center. He is President of Houstonians for Responsible Growth, Chairman of the Harris County Improvement District No. 1, and serves on the Uptown Development Authority, the Houston Realty Business Coalition, the Houston Real Estate Council, and the board of the Regis School.

"Through my involvement in the property rights movement, I have witnessed the tremendous influence of the Texas Public Policy Foundation," Miller said. "I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of their continued growth in size and national prominence."

The Texas Public Policy Foundation is a non-profit, non-partisan, free-market research institute based in Austin.
