Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Center for Education Freedom Senior Fellow the Honorable Kent Grusendorf gave invited testimony last week before the Texas House Committee on Appropriations and the House Committee on Public Education to consider interim charges related to school finance including, but not limited to, school facilities.

“I’m pleased that Speaker Straus has called for an expansive review of school finance,” said Grusendorf. “Texas has experienced 30 years of extensive litigation and debate regarding how we fund schools, now it’s the to refocus our efforts on funding education. Five million Texas students deserve an efficient system designed to meet their individual needs. As the Supreme Court suggested Texas can certainly do better than the exceedingly complex and sorely outdated system in place today.”
