AUSTIN – Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Bryan Mathew, policy analyst at the Center for Local Governance, will testify in support of House Bill 6 before the Texas House Committee on Land & Resource Management today, Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. CST or upon final adjournment in Room E2.026 of the Texas State Capitol.

“City governments are trampling on Texans’ fundamental rights by forcibly annexing communities to secure more tax revenue,” said Mathew. “No taxation without representation was a central cause of the American and Texas revolutions. Forced annexation offends that sacred principle, and that’s why it’s time to end it.”
