AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation today unveiled the 2017-18 “Legislator’s Guide to the Issues,” a series of recommendations to the 85th Texas Legislature that will keep Texas at the forefront of liberty, prosperity, and economic growth.

"Since the beginning, the Texas Public Policy Foundation has striven to inform and educate officeholders and policymakers across Texas,” said TPPF President and CEO Brooke Rollins. “This latest 'Legislator's Guide to the Issues' directly furthers that mission — and I sincerely expect it will be indispensable to our Texas lawmakers as they contend with the challenges facing the Lone Star State in 2017."

"This latest 'Legislator's Guide to the Issues' is another example of the proactive and forward-looking policy engagement that characterizes the Texas Public Policy Foundation,” said TPPF Executive Vice President Kevin Roberts, Ph.D. “We have always understood that it is not enough to advocate: our mission is to persuade, and that begins with informing the men and women entrusted with the privilege of legislative stewardship in our great state. And it is just the beginning — in the coming legislative session, our scholars and researchers will be active and engaged with our policymakers on liberty's behalf.

Roberts continued, “The 'Legislator's Guide to the Issues’ is just one way in which we serve our Texas legislators every single day. From cutting-edge research, to quality analysis, to innovative solutions, to effective communications, the Texas Public Policy Foundation puts the needs of our lawmakers front and center — just as we have for the past twenty-seven years."

“The Legislator’s Guide to the Issues provides policymakers and staff a single source for everything they need to increase the prosperity of all Texans,” said TPPF Vice President of Research and Director of the Center for Economic Freedom Bill Peacock. “The research it contains shows that liberty is both a desirable and practical principle of governance.”
