TPPF releases Extreme Weather and Climate Change: What the Science Really Says

AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation today released Extreme Weather and Climate Change: What the Science Really Says. This report, authored by TPPF Policy Analyst with the Armstrong Center for Energy and Environment Josiah Neeley, discusses the facts about climate change and its link to today’s extreme weather events.

 

“A recent Showtime miniseries focusing on climate change represents Hollywood’s latest attempt to sway public opinion on climate change,” said Neeley, “Several episodes attempt to link climate change to specific instances of droughts, storms, and other natural disasters. 

 

“However, you can’t have it both ways. Environmentalists can’t accuse people of being anti-science for not accepting the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and then turn around and ignore the same group when it says climate change hasn’t been causing extreme weather.”
