AUSTIN – Texas Public Policy Foundation Vice President for Policy Chuck DeVore will address the California Republican Party's spring convention in Sacramento on Friday, March 1st. The address, at the 7:30 p.m. Pacific dinner banquet, marks the former California State Assemblyman's return to California public life after an eminent career as a Golden State conservative lawmaker, activist, and advocate.

DeVore will speak on his latest book, “The Texas Model: Prosperity in the Lone Star State and Lessons for America” and discuss the lessons that Texas holds for California.

"It's a pleasure and a privilege to return to California to address so many friends and former colleagues," said DeVore, "After three terms representing Orange County in the California State Assembly, a 2010 run for the United States Senate, and nearly three decades of residence, I left my much-beloved home state and, like thousands of Californians, sought opportunity in Texas. What I found in the Lone Star State is what used to be in the Golden State, and can be again — a chance to live the American Dream.

"I am grateful that California's conservative activists and leaders have asked me to come speak about how Texas points the way forward for their own state — and for the country."
