Almost two-and-a-half years ago, the Texas Public Policy Foundation proudly launched TexasBudgetSource.com, a one-stop shop for state and local government budget and spending information in Texas. That effort, along with other initiatives from the Governor’s Office, the Comptroller of Public Accounts, and various members of the Legislature, has encouraged transparency and accountability measures at virtually every level of Texas government-making the Lone Star State a national leader on this issue.
Seeking to capitalize on this momentum, the Foundation has just recently launched a new and improved version of the site to provide users with more tools and content than ever before.
In addition to the features users have become most familiar with-government spending jargon explained; comprehensive list of state and local budgets, check registers, and financial reports; and an e-newsletter-the new site now offers a news and analysis section, a blog, daily news updates, and more.
