Parents are losing a voice when it comes to their children’s education. Many parents feel powerless to do anything about it, and that must end. It’s time for Texas to empower parents and adopt the Parents Bill of Rights:
1. Parents should have easy access to all curriculum and instructional materials assigned to students through online posting or other methods.
2. Parents should be confident their children are getting an education that allows them to be successful, such as preparing for college or learning career skills.
3. Parents should be treated with respect by school administrators, school board officials, and all other school employees, and parents’ concerns with school policies should be respectfully considered.
4. Parents should have school freedom that is not limited by their zip code. School choice should be established in Texas to help students access a great education.
I encourage you to support empowering parents in their children’s education!
