Dear lawmaker, Career and technical education and apprenticeships can provide valuable opportunities for our Texas students to learn in-demand skills for high paying jobs. Studies have shown that for each advanced CTE course a high school student takes, they will earn more money per year after graduation, regardless of whether that student attends college. Increasing access to and the quality of CTE programs and paid apprenticeships can help many students discover their unique gifts and give them a pathway to pursue their own version of the American Dream.
