AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s (TPPF) Center for Local Governance Director James Quintero will testify before the House Committee on Pensions TODAY, Monday, April 20th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. or upon final adjournment in Room E2.028 at the Texas State Capitol. Quintero will testify on House Bill 2608, which would restore control of pensions to the respective localities.

“Texans living and working in major cities all over the state are paying taxes for local pension plans that they have little or no control over,” said Quintero. “Some of the state’s largest local retirement systems have fashioned a system that puts Austin between them and their taxpayers. It’s time that the Legislature acted to get Austin out of the way and restored local pension control.”
