AUSTIN –Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced Friday that he filed an amicus brief in support of State of Florida’s lawsuit against the Administration’s attempt to unlawfully coerce Florida to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Center for the American Future Robert Henneke issued the following statement:
"The present challenge is not of 50 states’ individual battles, but of one front of united states, united for liberty against an increasingly overreaching federal bureaucracy,” said Henneke. “The actions of the Obama Administration in willful disobedience to the rule of law to coerce submission from the states should only strengthen our leaders’ resolve to demand adherence to the Tenth Amendment. I applaud Governor Abbott’s willingness to come to the aid of our sister state Florida in full recognition that tyranny recognizes no states’ borders.”
The Honorable Robert Henneke is the Director of the Center for the American Future at the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
