AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Center for Effective Justice Senior Policy Analyst Derek Cohen issued the following statement on Governor Greg Abbott signing into law House Bill 2398.
"We at the Texas Public Policy Foundation are pleased to see that Governor Abbott signed HB 2398,” said Cohen. “This piece of legislation will help keep students in school, empower school personnel and local judges, control costs, and reserve the criminal justice system for those worthy of its attention—the very type of conservative policy solution that does right by all Texans. We congratulate the Governor along with all those who have worked so diligently to pass this common sense piece of legislation.”
