Today, the American Legislative Exchange Council recognized Senator Paul Bettencourt, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Government, as the “2023 Legislator of the Year” for his part championing Texas’ record-breaking $18 billion tax relief package. As a result of his leadership, as well as many others, the average Texas homeowner will see their property tax bill decrease by almost $1,400 this year.
