Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation applauds the Texas Senate passage of SB 2424, legislation that will help defend Texas communities and provide law enforcement with the tools necessary to defend our southern border. The bill now heads to the House for consideration.

“SB 2424 is both Constitutional and necessary for the defense of Texas’ unsecured southern border,” said Joshua Treviño, chief of intelligence and research for TPPF. “We cannot wait further for the federal government to act. There is nothing preventing Texas from asserting its Constitutional sovereignty when faced with a Mexican state-cartel collusion that brings deadly fentanyl, corruption, and human trafficking into our communities. Senate Bill 2424 does exactly that, and we applaud its passage.”
