Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation applauds the Texas Senate Education Committee for passing Senate Bill 8 to the Senate floor for a full vote. This legislation will ensure that the parents of 5.4 million children are empowered to take a central role in their children’s education, through the protection of parental rights and by starting an Education Savings Account program.
“Parents deserve to have all of the necessary tools to ensure their child has access to a quality education that works best for them,” said Greg Sindelar, TPPF’s Chief Executive Officer. “Senate Bill 8 is an important step towards empowering all Texas parents, and we applaud the Senate Education Committee and Chairman Creighton for making parents a priority.”
