Today, the Texas Senate unanimously passed House Bill 4, a proposal that would afford Texans the strongest data privacy protections in the nation. The bill now heads back to the House to concur with Senate amendments. TPPF CEO Greg Sindelar released the following statement:

“House Bill 4 passing the Senate floor brings Texans one step closer to having more control and agency over their personal, sensitive information. This bill is the result of tremendous efforts from lawmakers like Rep. Giovanni Capriglione and Sen. Bryan Hughes who have rightly recognized that more of our personal information is being disseminated without accountability, and that a solution is needed to keep our data safe and secure. House Bill 4 is the solution that fills this void.”
