Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation announced a red-carpet premiere event for the next three episodes of their Forging Texas series. The event, featuring an address from Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, will showcase four unique stories of Texas history and honor those who made Texas Texan.

“Texas is the extension of America’s founding, based on the principles of ordered liberty, self-government, and equality. The story of Texas is the story of ourselves—who we are, how we came to be, and what it means to truly be Texan,” said Heritage President Kevin Roberts, Ph.D. “The stories told by the Forging Texas series are a reflection of our national identity, and the continuing fight for the principles America was founded on.”

“Texas principles are America’s principles, most importantly the idea that ‘all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.’ That idea, and the stories of those who built Texas upon it, sets Texans apart and serves as inspiration for the rest of the world,” said Joshua Trevino, director of Texas Identity for TPPF. “As America seems to have forgotten its founding principles, the stories in the Forging Texas series serve as hope for those fighting to restore them.”

“If there was ever a time to fill the hearts and minds of Americans with hope for the future and courage to resist any form of tyranny, it is now. There has never been a more effective way to do just that than through art and storytelling,” said Stephen Robinson, audio-video-production director for TPPF. “As we shine a light on the men and women who helped forge the great state of Texas, we aim to inspire Texans and the rest of the world to reflect on our past and to protect our God given liberties.”
