AUSTIN – Today, the Texas Workforce Commission released employment numbers for June 2018. The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Dr. Vance Ginn, senior economist and director of the Center for Economic Prosperity, released the following statement:

“Today’s state-level jobs report shows that Texas continues to be America’s jobs creation engine. Given the benefits of Texas’ model of limited government and recent Trump tax cuts, the Texas economy continues to expand at a robust pace. By holding spending in check and providing tax relief so it stays in the pockets of Texans, Texas will continue to be the place for abundant prosperity.”

Texas continued its long streak of positive job creation with 27,200 net nonfarm jobs created in June, bringing the total to a nation-leading 359,500 jobs added in the last year.

The unemployment rate dropped to 4 percent.
