TPPF Distinguished Senior Fellow and Former Chief of US Border Patrol, Rodney Scott, spoke to the House Judiciary Committee about his experiences and the importance of border security and immigration. He explained how his career starting in 1994 and culminating in his role as Chief in 2019 saw a successful strategy implemented that reduced chaos and emphasized controlling who and what is entering the US. Scott also spoke about the profound impact of 9/11 on his understanding of border security and how the strategy evolved with an increased focus on situational awareness through intelligence and physical surveillance. However, he also experienced a reversal of border security and immigration policy under the Biden Administration which resulted in the transfer of control of the US border with Mexico to drug cartels and the overwhelming of the border patrol.
