On Tuesday, Think Local Liberty’s Bryan Mathew appeared on FOX 7 to point out some of the many flaws with Austin’s paid sick leave ordinance, which is expected to be voted on tomorrow.
“When we have a regulatory environment where many firms are able to enter and compete, you’ll see that they start to compete with one another for these workers,” Mathew said. Mathew went on to make the case that centrally-planned mandate would create obstacles for existing and potential businesses. Mathew also spoke about the unseen effects of such a policy, stating that it would prevent “new firms being able to come in and compete…[and] will harm workers in the long run.”
