The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent government-mandated shutdowns created a harmful ripple effect felt around the country. In a survey taken at the end of May of 2020, 16% of Texans said they were facing financial ruin, and 22% said it would take them a year or more to recover. These figures likely have worsened since then.

While the health threat of COVID-19 is real and many intervention attempts were well-intended, they also resulted in harmful unintended consequences. It’s time to take a step back to assess whether the cure has been worse than the disease. What can we do differently to better toe the line between COVID-19 pre-cautions and the health of individuals in our society as a whole? Does the government have too much power over the people? And, if so, what policies need to be put in place to rein them in?

LLC members* are invited to a salon dinner** experience at the home of Micah & Wally Dunn. Over catered dinner and drinks, we will discuss these questions and more.

If you plan to attend the dinner, please read this article prior to the event. It will serve as a main point of discussion throughout the evening.

**Salon dinners are an exclusive experience for LLC members. Hosted by another LLC member at their home around their own dining room table, this evening is meant to inspire camaraderie and conversation among members in an intimate and private setting. Drinks and catered dinner will be served. Members with all levels of expertise/knowledge on the topic should feel comfortable attending as the discussion will start with the foundation of the issue and gradually build upon itself.
