PETITION: Tell Ector County ISD to Support Parent Empowerment
The Ector County Independent School District is planning to fight parents who want to be in charge of their child’s education.
The Texan News reports the school district has announced they will oppose legislation in the legislative session that would give parents more opportunities to choose the best educational options for their children.
Proposals ECISD has vowed to oppose include:
• Parents choosing whichever public, private or charter schools work best for their kids
• Students getting help to afford technical training, workforce preparation, and apprenticeships
• Families receiving assistance for tutoring, books, early postsecondary instruction, extracurricular programs, and any other educational materials
Sign the petition to demand Ector County ISD officials repeal this anti-parent, anti-student provision from its legislative agenda.
