Matt Miller is a senior attorney in the Center for the American Future.

Before joining the Foundation, Matt served as the managing attorney of the Texas Office of the Institute for Justice for nine years and later as a senior attorney at the Goldwater Institute for almost four years.

Matt began his legal career at Hughes & Luce, a large Dallas law firm that has since merged with the national firm of K&L Gates. Matt and his work have appeared in numerous state and national publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, USA Today, Fox Business, and most major Texas newspapers.

Matt is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the State Bar of Arizona and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. Throughout his career, he has been admitted to practice before the Northern and Western Districts of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has made numerous appearances in other state and federal courts as well.

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, his master’s degree from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, and his J.D. from the University of Chicago.
