Kristen is the events director for the Texas Public Policy Foundation, and she joined the Foundation in June of 2018 to manage the organization’s local and statewide policy event portfolio. Before joining the TPPF team, she was the director of development and marketing at The Shade Project, an Austin-based nonprofit committed to skin cancer prevention. And, prior to relocating to Austin in 2016, Kristen enjoyed her work in marketing, events, and sales within the health insurance, beverage, running, and coffee industries, including an 11-year tenure with Anheuser-Busch, InBev in St. Louis, Sacramento, and San Diego.

Kristen grew up in St. Louis, MO and is a University of Missouri graduate. She is a melanoma survivor, cancer advocate and American Cancer Society Hero of Hope, and she proudly shares her story and her passion for prevention via public speaking, social media, and community outreach. She has also been a volunteer leader in the cancer community, chairing events and individually raising more than $50,000 for various nonprofits and grassroots initiatives. Previously in Austin, Kristen now lives in Parker, CO with her husband and son where they enjoy spending lots of quality time with family and maximizing their time in the beautiful outdoors.
