Matt Stringer is a political and government correspondent in the West Texas Bureau of the Texas Scorecard, the media affiliate of Empower Texans. Prior to writing for the Texas Scorecard, Matt worked as a jeweler for his family’s fine jewelry stores. As a grassroots activist, Matt has been heavily involved in the Texas Legislature working to further conservative policies through the legislative process.

In 2016, he was elected to serve as a Presidential Elector of the Electoral College for Texas’ 11th Congressional District. Matt had the honor of being selected by the Conservative Partnership Institute in Washington D.C as a 2019 Haggerty-Richardson Fellow, and is currently a student of Paralegal Studies at Odessa College.
