Brooke Garner is a Texas native from Austin and a senior at the University of Arkansas, majoring in political science with minors in legal studies and Spanish. She currently serves as a healthcare policy intern at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, where she focuses on reforming access, affordability, and patient rights. Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 14 and thyroid cancer at 20, Brooke’s personal experience navigating chronic illness has shaped her commitment to improving healthcare systems through policy. She is an Arthritis Foundation Ambassador and two-time Jingle Bell Run Honoree, raising awareness for juvenile and rheumatoid arthritis. Brooke is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and she volunteers with the Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association. She plans to pursue a career in health policy and law, advocating for patient-centered reform.
