Dear lawmaker, Medicaid expansion dumps millions of dollars into a poorly performing program, limits access for those it was intended to serve, and puts Texas on an unstable fiscal path. Instead, we should support health care solutions that lower health care costs, increase access, put patients in control, and improve Medicaid for those it was designed for. Medicaid expansion would add millions of able-bodied adults to the program resulting in increased wait-times, diminished health care, and increased costs for those that Medicaid was originally intended to help.
