AUSTIN – Texas Public Policy Foundation Economist Dr. Vance Ginn will testify before the Texas House Public Education Committee on Issues Related to School Finance TOMORROW, Tuesday, February 28, at 12:00 p.m. CT in room E2.036 of the Texas State Capitol. Dr. Ginn will provide invited testimony that outlines a new approach to the school finance system in Texas.

“We applaud the desire and work of the Texas House Public Education Committee to address the overly complex issue of the school finance system in Texas,” said Dr. Ginn. “By considering sound solutions for the funding and distribution of funds in the school finance system, Texas can provide an efficient tax system and a student-centered distribution of funds that best meets the needs of each student. A fundamental reform of Texas’ school finance system along these lines instead of past tweaks would provide an efficient, equitable, and simpler school finance system that allows students, parents, teachers, and all Texans more opportunities to maximize their success.”
