AUSTIN— Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation announced LTC Allen West (Retired) will be leaving his role at the Foundation.

“Allen West is a visionary leader who worked tirelessly to bring the Booker T. Washington Initiative from concept to reality,” said Kevin Roberts, executive director of the Texas Public Policy Foundation. “We thank Allen for his service to establish this important initiative focused on the prosperity of all Texans and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

West has served as director of the Booker T. Washington Initiative. Before moving to Texas, West represented Florida’s 22nd congressional district in the House from 2011 to 2013.

“Allen’s steadfast devotion to the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is more important now than ever and I would like to thank LTC West for his wisdom, leadership, and guidance,” said Bradford Traywick II, project coordinator for the Booker T. Washington Initiative.

The Booker T. Washington Initiative seeks to lead the way in the national conversation on alleviating poverty and encouraging economic prosperity, with the goal of inspiring a new wave of major state and national reforms that seek to reduce barriers to success and open new paths to prosperity.

The Foundation is excited to continue the work of the Booker T. Washington Initiative.
