The Texas Public Policy Foundation is seeking an experienced events professional to manage the performance of the Foundation’s events. This Events Manager is responsible for executing complete logistics for dozens of annual events ranging from 10-person lunches to 150-person multi-day conferences and fundraising dinners. In addition, the Events Manager will co-manage and provide major support for an annual 3-day 1,200-person conference (Policy Orientation.) The position requires complex coordination between staff, volunteers, and speakers. The Events Manager works closely with the Vice President of Events and Events Director to carry out detailed event plans and support the overall success of the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

The Events Manager’s responsibilities will include:

  • Managing over 20 annual events such as donor meetings, lunches, dinners, and multi-day conferences
  • Working closely with the Vice President of Events to coordinate budgetary, marketing, and logistical requirements for events
  • Managing the distribution of Foundation and event materials to attendees
  • Working closely with the Events Director to create invitations, manage RSVPs, produce pre- and post-event emails to attendees, update event websites, and input attendee information into Raisers Edge
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of the Foundation’s major annual events, including Policy Orientation, Visionaries Meeting, Victory Summit, Awards Dinners, and Engagement Dinners
  • Working closely with the Vice President of Events to identify and propose new events that further the Foundation’s mission
  • Managing other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least two years’ experience in event management and possibly also in volunteer management
  • High energy level and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to adhere to a plan while demonstrating flexibility when needed
  • Good organization skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent command of the English language and writing/editing ability
  • Experience using Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Experience using Raisers Edge Database
  • Self-starter mentality and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Great attention to detail
  • A personal commitment to the principles of limited government, personal responsibility, and free enterprise
