AUSTIN –Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Center for the American Future Director Robert Henneke issued the following statement on the Texas Attorney General’s request filed with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to halt implementation of the Clean Power Plan pending judicial proceedings on the rule:

"The Foundation strongly supports a stay of the Clean Power Plan rule through the demand filed today with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by the Texas Attorney General’s office. There is no question that the Rule represents a significant expansion of EPA’s power without a legitimate basis. Furthermore, the Clean Power Plan will harm poor families and senior citizens on fixed incomes through the burden of increased electricity costs and will not deliver any significant benefit to worldwide temperatures.”

The Honorable Robert Henneke is the Director of the Center for the American Future at the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
