AUSTIN – After five years serving as the chief spokesman and principle government affairs director, Michael Quinn Sullivan is ending his tenure as vice president of the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
“It’s certainly a sad day for our organization, as the Texas Public Policy Foundation is losing one of the most passionate free-market leaders in the country. But it is also an exciting day as Michael takes up command at a like-minded group that will help us continue to move freedom and liberty forward,” said the Foundation’s president, Brooke Rollins. “He has been critical to the success we have achieved these last several years and will be greatly missed. But his talents, skills and leadership are needed in a new effort that will help drive needed reforms in Texas.”
Sullivan said the Texas Public Policy Foundation is the “indisputable leader on state-level policy issues” in Texas and around the nation.
“Under Brooke’s leadership, and with the dedication of the board and staff, the Foundation has grown and increased its impact in ways no one could have possibly foreseen,” said Sullivan. “I’m honored to have been a part of this team.”
A special reception will be held in Sullivan’s honor on Tuesday, December 5, at the Foundation’s offices, at which time the new organization will be announced.
Rollins said three of the Foundation’s staff members were being promoted to vice president, with the approval of the board of directors:
- Bill Peacock, who has directed the Center for Economic Freedom, is now going to be the vice president of administration.
- Mary Katherine Stout, who has served as director of the Center for Health Care Policy, will be the vice president of policy.
- Shari Hanrahan, the director of development, will now be the vice president of outreach.
Peacock and Stout will also continue their research and policy duties.
Additionally, Rollins noted that next week the Foundation will announce the selection of a new media and government affairs director.
