Shari Hanrahan is the vice president of outreach for the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Her extensive background in communications will support her role of coordinating the contributed income program on behalf of the Foundation. She is responsible for maximizing fundraising potential and for increasing the base of support from foundations, corporations and individuals.
Shari has worked for Texas state representatives Jerry Madden, Ken Paxton and Jodie Laubenberg as a communications aide and chief of staff. Previous to working at the Capitol, Shari volunteered in the press department of the Bush for President Campaign headquarters in Austin and participated in the Republican National Convention as a radio broadcast assistant. Her media background extends to Southwest Airlines Co., where she oversaw media relations for the company’s Midwest region of service. Prior to her service at Southwest Airlines, Shari oversaw radio promotions for a leading Dallas radio station.
An alumna of Ohio University, Shari received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. She has lived in Texas for over 15 years. She enjoys participating in triathlons and has three (beautiful, brilliant, amazing) children.
