Annexation threatens the liberty of Texas cities by inciting the imposition of government on citizens and eliminates the essence of democracy by taking away the right for a resident to make decisions on where they live and what taxes they pay. Significant strides were made during 84th Legislative Session to remedy the problem of forced annexation, but legislative efforts ultimately fell short, leaving much work to be done in the interim to see that Texans are secure in their persons and property.

Join the Texas Public Policy Foundation as we examine the necessary steps Texas must take to put an end to forced annexation.
