It’s a time of change. And there is no better place to talk about that change than at the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Annual Policy Orientation for the Texas Legislature.

The American people have made their choice, and the country charts a new course beginning January 20th, 2017. Now the task before us is to make this outcome a fruitful one — moving the nation toward the liberty that is our birthright.

Policy Orientation 2017 will host compelling conversations on what a society ought to do and achieve in this new era. We will have debate and discussion — and that’s a good thing, because we need it.

Policy Orientation will showcase the leaders, the decision-makers, and the citizens who are shaping the Texas future now. From Washington, D.C., to Austin, to every neighborhood and community, the big conversations afoot are being shaped by the big thinkers — and big doers — from every walk of life.

Those are the people, the leaders of thought and action, who will be at Policy Orientation.

What can you expect to learn about at Policy Orientation? We’ll be discussing the most important topics of the coming year, including:

  • Charting America’s path out of Obamacare.
  • Revivifying state sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment.
  • Litigating against federal overreach into our lives and communities.
  • Defending the promise and potential of American energy.
  • Reforming education and extending academic freedom at every level.
  • Showing one of America’s biggest states how to live within its means.

There’s something different about Texas: liberty proves its case here. Not because liberty is different here, nor even because Texans are different — though of course we like to talk a lot about how we are! Liberty proves its case here — delivering prosperity, hope, opportunity, dignity, and optimism — because liberty is given a chance here.

And because there’s something different about Texas, there’s something different about Texas’s premier policy event — the Annual Policy Orientation for the Texas Legislature.

We look forward to having you join us — and we look forward to your participation in the extraordinary conversations we have planned.
