July 31 would have been the late economist Milton Friedman’s 100th birthday.  Dr. Friedman believed that “instead of promoting competition, antitrust laws tend to do exactly the opposite.” Complicating the issue, the expansion of markets through technology means that many businesses are now subject to overlapping and even conflicting antitrust enforcement regimes.
